What a great lecture! In partnership with PSC Photography Studies College (Melbourne) and Habayit, we had the opportunity to host one of Israel’s most prominent photographers – Adi Nes, for a lecture about his works. Adi, who was invited to take part in the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, took the opportunity to share with us issues related to hidden layers within his photographs. He exposed the way he uses canonical icons and the social ideas that are ascribed to them.
Nes’s body of work includes five main series to date: Soldiers (1994-2000), Boys (2000), Prisoners (2003), Biblical Stories (2004-2007); The Village (2007- 2012).
The Living Philosophy course is an introduction and foundation towards living life with meaning and awareness. It brings together the thoughts of the most prominent philosophers of the East and West, especially those who left deep marks on humanity. This comparative study of philosophies does not belong to a single thinker or any particular school but is a universal human heritage. It is more than just another course; it is an opportunity to promote philosophy as a way of life and engage deeply with ideas, practice together, and develop skills in a supportive community.
