No prior knowledge is needed. This course is for anyone interested in adopting a philosophical approach to daily living. The focus is on practical application rather than theoretical accumulation.
The course runs for 18 weeks, with weekly classes from 7:30 pm to 9:45 pm at our Balaclava branch. Classes are in person to ensure an interactive and personal experience. The course also includes individual meetings with instructors, a half-day exercise seminar, and a final volunteer project assessment.
Our instructors are living philosophers who have studied with New Acropolis for several years. After completing a one-year Instructor Training Program, they serve as assistant teachers before becoming full instructors. All teaching is done voluntarily by dedicated members of the New Acropolis.
New Acropolis operates as an entirely volunteer-run non-profit organisation. Course fees fund all classes and activities and the maintenance of our centres. The fee covers logistical costs and helps sustain the centre’s operations. However, contact the instructor for a concession fee if you need any assistance.
The Living Philosophy course serves as the foundation for further exploration. Upon successful completion, participants can join the Advanced Studies Program and become members of New Acropolis to continue their philosophical journey.
While consistent attendance is encouraged, we understand life can be unpredictable. If you must miss a class for a valid reason, inform your instructor to arrange a catch-up class. 75% attendance is required to complete the course and qualify for advanced studies.
Yes, the course includes a booklet to enrich your learning experience.
